Congratulations to our new class of GBE Foundation scholarship winners. They are an amazing group with very different backgrounds and interest. 

 

Robin Boško – Junior at Gymnázium Terézie Vansovej High School in Stará Ľubovňa, Slovakia

  • A native of Stará Ľubovňa, small town in northeastern Slovakia
  • One of the best BMX Freestyle riders in Slovakia
  • Dreams of traveling the world with his bike and participating in the Tokyo/Paris Olympics
  • Studied at an English bilingual school for 1 year
  • Loves animals and the environment – has a pet python at home
  • Very good student; interested in mathematics
  • Father is a teacher for hearing impaired children; mother has a nail salon

 

Veronika Kubisová – Junior at at Gymnázium Terézie Vansovej High School in Stará Ľubovňa, Slovakia

  • A native of Podolínec, small town in northeastern Slovakia
  • Multi-talented, very active in her local community
  • Loves reading and writing – writes for student newspaper, poet
  • Teaches English to kindergarten students
  • Plays piano, ukulele
  • Interested in chemistry and biology – wants to become a doctor
  • Youngest of 5 children. Parents are retired; brother is disabled

 

Adam Lazík – Sophomore at Gymnázium Š. Moyzesa High School in Ružomberok, Slovakia

  • From Ružomberok, a small town in northern Slovakia
  • Excellent, hard-working student with a strong interest in physics, math and IT
  • 97 unweighted GPA
  • Likes sports – plays tennis competitively
  • Very well-rounded and thoughtful
  • Interested in IT and science entrepreneurship
  • Father is a builder; mother is an administrative worker at a hospital
